Youth Professional Training (YPT) Event coming to Texas

01 Feb 2008

by: David Dinh

Parents and Players,

I would like to inform all of you about a very special event that Forza Campiones (Forza) and Youth Professional Training Program (YPT) are bringing to our soccer community. This event will help identify talented players and get them exposure to professional teams in Europe. Forza and YPT will continue this process to help raise the level of play for our young talented players.

Forza is holding a preliminary tryout/screening for boys from the age of 9-16 years old on Sunday February 17. The tryout location will be held at the International Soccer Complex in San Antonio, Texas. This tryout is to help identify the most talented players that have dreams of someday playing professionally. Every player that attends will have to fill out a profile page and a medical release form.

The identification process to identify talented players is FREE!!! Once the player has been identified and selected by the Forza and YPT staff, they will be invited to train in a five day camp under Forza and YPT in Austin on March 10-14. The fee for the five day camp has not been set yet. Based on the numbers of talented players that have been identified, a prorated fee schedule will be developed at a later date. By not setting a fee right now, we are trying to keep the expenses down for our players and their families as much as possible. Not all players attending the 5-day camp have to attend the tryout since these players already have been identified by Forza and YPT staff in other states and countries.

Once the player has been chosen for the second stage, arrangements for travel will be made. Where a financial hardship exists, financial assistance will be pursued.

The selection process, which includes the tryouts and camp, will be held twice a year. This will give a young player an incentive if he did not make it this time, there will be another one in six months. This on-going process will inspire and motivate our players to train harder to prepare for the next time. If the talent pool is good in the second stage, then there could very well be a youth development coach/coaches from different professional clubs present at this five day camp.

Please help me forward this invitation to as many top soccer players that you know as possible.

I want to thank Mr. Roberto Camargo for allowing us to use the International Soccer Complex for this special event. If there are any questions, please contact myself, David Dinh or John Fisher. You can find out more information and details on the Forza and YPT website.
